My childhood self believed that the game couldn't be beaten. I was too interested in equal leveling, believing having characters that were jacks-of-all trades was a better idea than having a single-use tool. I didn't understand the dynamic between weapons that cut, that bashed, or that sliced, and which option would be best used on which type of enemy. The more enemies you defeated, the less enemies would appear in that part of the world you beat them, which flew right over my head at a young age. The idea that having one priest to support healing all characters and one wizard to do ranged magic damage to enemies was enough for your meager party: impossible to fathom.
