I always remember the lessons learned from playing this game. Limited item space, excellent management functionality, equip and upkeep is essential throughout, and combining like assets allows for the highest space-to-benefit ratio. And while it makes me feel like a philistine, I really did love the tactile click sound that came when you were moving and rotating the items. Very satisfying when you got everything lined up just right.
I need to carve out some time to do some evaluations of gameplay inventory in more modern games, clearly. I do like Team Fortress's implementation, as it seems simple, intuitive and aesthetically pleasing.
